Toilet training and toddler diarrhoea?

Is it possible to potty train a toddler that suffers from this?

She's not been officially diagnosed but has all the symptoms - in her 2 1/2 years I can count on one hand the number of solid poos we've had.

She's starting to show an interest in using the toilet now but I wonder if I need to wait til she grows out of this first - having done some reading apparently it is just something they grow out of.

Hi kitkat,
My 3 year old son has TD and am pleased to say that just over the past few months he has started to produce more frequent solid poos.
I would say that 2/3 poos are now solid in fact. His bowel habits are changing a lot in that he probably goes every other day now when before it was daily and sometimes twice or more daily.
We have had him using the potty for wees for a number of months now but he still wears a nappy because of the poos. I think this confuses things for them because the nappy means they lose the incentive to use the potty/toilet.
It may be worth thinking about holding off potty training until the TD has resolved?
I am going to have to have another concerted effort at potty training once his poos are nearly all solid. I think it would be traumatic for him and whoever has to change him to have him in pants with his slushy poos!

My kid was misdiagnosed with TD, it was actually lactose intolerance.

Once we cut out dairy toilet training improved significantly.

I would want an investigation and confirmed diagnosis.
