Dd1 was potty trained from about 2 years old and dry over night a few months later. Great, fantastic but refused to use the actual toilet. Now I still have to carry the potty everywhere we go nearly a year later. I have brought a toilet seat, a step, we've decorated her toilet seat but she still refuses to use the toilet.
I want to remain calm about it and let her progress in her own time but it's now becoming a problem as the nursery where she goes ( and will progress through to school) only have toilets, no potty. They are lovely small clean toilets but dd1 refuses to go on them and is now wetting herself.
Nursery are supportive at present but I don't want it to develop further and also run the risk of teasing by other children. I have tried to take the potty away so she had to use toilet but again she refused and held it in and then wet herself in middle of a cafe (which hasn't happened since we first started potty trainings).
Any advice gratefully received!!!

I'm not an expert and this could be terrible advice so please feel free to tell me to f-off.
Could you put her on it during the night when she's sleepy? I've heard a few people doing that when trying to night-train (I know you can't really night-train). And then possibly talk about it being a normal thing a few days later, that everyone uses the toilet and has been doing so during the night for ages.
It's probably a terrible idea!

Do you know what she's frightened of?
