Hi
I'm on day 3 of potty training my 2.10 DS. We've had the potty out for a while, he knows what it's for, we're read the books. Kicked off on Sunday, lots of accidents, nothing in potty, was a bit reluctant to sit on but buttons worked as bribery but nothing went in. Yesterday less accidents, more willing to sit on potty (infront of TV) and then the excitement of iggle piggle must have got to him and he did the most enormous wee and poo, cue major celebration by me and his big sister, buttons and stickers for the chart. Today, one accident first thing (as won't sit on potty when he gets up) then nothing all morning, he has sat on it when asked happily. As soon as I put his nappy on for nap (which he badly needs) I knew he was holding it in as he had drunk loads of apple juice and he told me he was weeing in his nappy. So he totally gets in but tells me he doesn't like weeing in the potty as he is scared. Have tried the toilet...any tips on overcoming potty fear????? Feel that we are so close!!!. My DD was super quick, we were done day 1 but she pooed in a nappy for first 2 weeks or so but no idea how to help my little boy overcome letting go. Thanks in advance for your help!

Not sure if he is scared. Was going to advise running a tap if it was just a case of letting go. My friend has a potty that plays a tune when she wees which she loves and is a very happy tune - could something novel like that help him get over his fear?
