Potty training

My daughter thinks the toilet is dangerous!

My dd is potty trained both day and night. She has been accident free for the last five days and will use the potty without prompting. She is two years and eight months.

The only problem I have is that she will only use a potty. She tells me that toilets are dangerous and she is scared she will end up at the sewage works. (We had a book that showed the poo and wee being flushed away and ending up at the sewage works.) She will not use a toilet seat with a step stool. Bribary is not enough to persaude to use the loo.

I know its not a major problem in the grand scheme of things, but its pain having to take the potty everywhere. I am sure she will not go to uni with a potty.

I wouldn't worry, she's still very young. Maybe a new toilet seat, you can get clear plastic ones with patterns might make it seem less scary.

Does she see you use the toilet? Just lots of reassurance and as you say, she's not gonna take the potty to uni Wink

You could try a high potty at home which is more like sitting on a toilet as the first step. I got one at toys r us Smile
