DD has recently started to tell me once she has done a poo. She is also quite keen to sit on the potty or toilet so I have decided to start looking into potty training her. I have always been an advocate of going the whole way straight away, ie ditch nappies and straight to pants but then DD1 and other children (childminded) I have trained were always older. DD can communicate with me but her speech isn't great yet so don't think going into pants now is a good idea.

This week I have been sitting her in the toilet or potty at each nappy change. She is generally happy to sit there but as yet hasn't done anything on them. So I have just bought pull ups and am wondering whether I put her on the potty every hour or so, where possible, and see how we get on. Is this likely to work or confuse her?

My dd2 pt'd at about that age as she had seen her sister use the potty and simply copied her. I found if I put pants on her she would wee in them but bare bummed in the house and she would be fine
