Hiya my son is 2 weeks old today. I have been doing 50/50 feeding and giving him expressed breast milk but he seems to have completely gone of the breast milk. I've noticed over the 2 days when he pooing he's really straining and very uncomfortable. He is pooping regular but today it seems to getting worse and he's just getting more uncomfortable each time he's trying to poo. Has this happened to anyone else does anyone know what it I can do to help please?

What consistency is it when it comes?
Is it still soft or hard and dry?

I'd say so! My HV recommended an ounce of cool, boiled water and my Dr prescribed some lactulose.

Is it 50/50 ebm and formula or ebm and breastfeeding? Some gentle clockwise tummy massage and a warm bath might help.

If he's still doing poos and they're still soft then it's not constipation. They do put a lot of effort into doing the toilet as the pushing thing is a bit alien to them.

Don't give lactulose to a 2 week old baby - or boiled water, until you speak to a gp.
Breastfed babies can go a week without pooing, so I'm not sure he's constipated if he's still going to the toilet. If it's hard lumps, then yes, but if he's going daily I doubt he is.
Babies don't know how to push so they have to put in a lot of effort.

My LO didn’t poo everyday at that age.
Don’t give them anything until GP has advised even the water.
Plenty massage time, warm flannel on belly in bath.
Do bicycle legs incase it’s trapped wind.
I also found going up and down the stairs holding up up right against me helped wind travel down.

Ahh sorry! I read 2 months, not 2 weeks!
