6 week postnatal check now done between 8-10 weeks?

Has anyone else had this from their GP surgery?

Midwifes and consultant both advised having some issues followed up at 6 week postnatal check but when I've chased my appointment with GP surgery I've been told it's now carried out between 8-10 weeks! I'm concerned as I was only discharged from midwives after 4 weeks as it would only be two weeks before I would be seen by GP but now it could be up to 6 weeks. It doesn't help that you can't book the appointment yourself they book it and send it to you in the post Hmm

If your concerned about a specific issues then ask for an earlier appointment or if they won’t do one then make an appointment for the one issue.

Only just had our '6' week check at 9 weeks. No one mentioned it now bring a later check. I was chasing for a good 2 weeks before we got this appointment Hmm

Our GP practise don't do them. I've had 2 emergency sections and apart from the GP asking if I was okay briefly at my dcs 8 week check up, nothing.

They just tell you to make an appointment if you're concerned about something.

Selfsettling3 I don't really want to waste a GP appointment someone else can use as by the time I get one it will be the same time as the check now. But at this rate I'll have to!

Dinosauratemydaffodils they do both checks and vaccinations at the same time so effectively I'm waiting for all three!
