Hi all, I gave birth to my first child (daughter) last weekend, the birth wasn't straightforward and I had an episiotomy and lost a lot of blood... since then however I've been feeling a lot better and seem to be shedding a lot of my pregnancy weight very quickly which I'm amazed at!!

However I had to remove my rings during pregnancy due to swelling and now I can't even get them past my knuckle?! This doesn't seem like swelling but that my hands are just bigger!! Anybody else experienced this? It's the only body part that doesn't seem to have been affected by the baby coming out! 🙈

Thanks in advance! X

Hi, this happened to me but after a few weeks my hands went back to normal and rings went on fine!

I'm sure you're still flushing out fluid for several weeks after having a baby (so more weight loss to happen yet). My fingers went back to normal after about 3 weeks I think.

That's good to know thank you!! Did you find that yours felt swollen? Mine don't particularly just big knuckles but it could well be and it perhaps just feels quite firm. I can't wait to get my rings back on!!

No, I couldn't see or feel any difference in them but the rings just wouldn't go past! Suddenly they did so they must have retained teeny amounts of fluid.

I lost all of my baby weight (12kg) in 10 days (was in and out of hospital and very stressed, wouldn't recommend!) but it took until 3 weeks after the birth before I could get my rings back on.
