Postpartum discharge...puzzled!

Hi All!

I am just looking for a bit of advice and to see if anyone has encountered anything similiar? I apologise if it is slightly TMI!

Since I have been 7w pp (my pp bleeding completely stopped at 6) I have been getting a non-stop discharge. I have had two swabs taken and both were clear and I am awaiting my smear (am hoping it is not related to that!). I had my first period at 10w pp which was really heavy and long and all over the place but I started the pill and I think they did not agree with me so I did stop taking it after the first pack and bleeding stopped.
I am now 17w pp and the discharge is not stopping. It is like what you get when you ovulate? But constant and (sorry TMI) can be snotty/gloopy in texture. I have zero other symptoms so I am puzzled!

Has anyone else had something like this after having their little one? I am wondering if something has been damaged from the birth? Or if something is not being picked up? My birth was straight forward but had a cut and section.

Any help would be massively appreciated please! Will be going back to the Dr if smear comes back normal but they have been rubbish and fobbed me off a lot x

PuddingPie16, has your GP examined you eg checked cervix? Smear tests up to date? (not asking to cause alarm, but I assume your GP has asked this also). Could it be an ectropion? Has the discharge stopped now?

Yes smear test has come back normal, so have 3 swabs. Nurse said cervix looked fine. No, it is still there. I have decided to push for a referral to a gyno as my GP keeps blaming it on 'hormones' and will not look into it.
Sorry, not aware of ectropion?

It’s where the cells on the inside grow on the outer part of the cervix. It’s not serious but can be a cause for bleeding/spotting. Common in pregnancy and with combined oral contraception (due to oestrogen). Was the issue bleeding with you?
Sounds like s good idea to push for Gynae referral. Hope you get somewhere with it. Maybe see a different GP to ask for a referral?
