Pain in bath 4 months postpartum

My daughter was born four months ago in a very difficult birth (failed forceps and emergency c section). My recovery has been going well and I'm now rarely in pain unless I over exert myself.

However I have noticed that when I get a bath I get pain in my vagina, possibly where I had an episiotomy. It feels like a stinging/tugging sensation that goes into my vagina and is worse if I activate my pelvic floor. Has anyone had this? What is it?

Hiya,
Sounds similar to me - I had episiotomy and third degree tear and I occasionally get pain. I attend a perineal clinic for people with 3rd and 4th degree tears and I raised it at one of my appointments and they said it's normal and to massage the skin with moisturiser in that area so it doesn't tighten etc as that's what causes the pain.

However, I also had bad infections down there and ended up in hospital a fortnight after birth so if it continues maybe get it checked just incase. It should be fully healed after 4months but worth having it looked at just incase to rest your mind

Thanks it does feel like a tightening so that makes sense. Just odd that it doesn't really happen at other times Confused
