AIBU to be very excited indeed about what is happening?

to my mind if conservatives try to form minority govt they will either have to accede to electoral reform to get the libdems on board OR they will not be able to do so.

independents, libdems, greens etc will hold balance of power.

despite ALL murdoch's scaremongering, the electorate have said : NO, we don't really trust either of the two big parties...

I can't see DC agreeing to PR tbh. Will the Lib Dems then offer their hand to Labour? A coaltion of losers, who still don't form a majority government between them?

The Lib Dems have no power to negotiate at all. And could end up looking very silly indeed.

YANBU.

Can't see yet how it is all going to end up. For those of us without a strong party leaning but who want a change in the electoral system it is properly thrilling and so much better than having woken up to Tory landslide or small majority

Sophable - Won't you feel terribly let-down if the Lib Dems lend their support to the Tories without holding out for PR?

Most Tories would rather poke their eyes out than get into bed with the Lib Dems and I suspect most Lib Dems feel the same. Nick Clegg isn't representative of his party members. It can't work as a coalition. Both parties would fall apart. Aaaanyway.

I hope you are keeping well. x

do you really think that a minority coalition is the answer? it's not exciting at all - it is going to be a nightmare.

And who do you foresee as prime minister - still Gordon Brown? Or do you think that it's a good idea to throw a labour leadership contest into this chaos as well and for us to end up with yet another prime minister we haven't elected.

This cannot be a positive thing.
