This country is going to change irrevocably

I’ve just read about Unchained Brittania and it makes for worrying reading. It’s a very right wing viewpoint of Britain that reduces taxes, diminishes workers rights, dismantles the NHS, and makes it easier to sack people and was written by 5 MPs who are all now in the Cabinet - Raab, Patel etc.

The next 2/3 years are going to change this country forever and I fear not for the better for our children. It’s so worrying and what a time for this government to push thru unpopular policies during a pandemic and post Brexit. We’re screwed.

Yeah, it's their plan. It always has been. That's why some of us preferred to stay in the EU and be protected from these dangerous ideologues.

However, the Gov did recently cancel their planned review in to post Brexit workers rights, so maybe someone doesn't think it's a good idea anymore.

On the other hand, because of the "Henry VIII" legislation government enacted, they now don't need parliament's approval to make any changes they want, so they could just sod the consultation and do what they want now. And no-one would stop them. Even if somehow a vote was forced in parliament, they have an 80 seat majority so would win any way.

It's a shame because I think if a lot of moderate Conservative voters had been paying attention in 2019, they'd realise that most decent MPs were kicked out or resigned in disgust so now the party is Conservative in name only. They didn't notice it was a wolf in a blanket, not a sheep like they thought.

We’re screwed.

Sure are.

And crime and sentencing bill now going through parliament so if you "annoy" anyone too much when complaining about it, you can face 10 years in clink.
