Macron's leaked emails

Does anyone know what info the emails contained? All I can find is references to 'dodgy deals' and offshore bank accounts.

Will this help Le Pen win?

TIA

Hopefully not - the French have very strict rules about what can be said just before an election

The word is that it's some genuine mixed with some false ones to confuse the hell out of everyone. Seems to be part for the course these days.

French press refusing to discuss it (not that they are allowed to; there is a purdah period just before the vote), but from what I can gather, there is a lot of evidence that Macron was (SHOCK!) running a political campaign, plus some crudely faked documents with Russian fingerprints all over them.

From what I can see on Twitter, it may just have made French voters more determined to turn out.

Sadly I think this is a dry run for Le Pen. Getting people used to the idea for next election. I'm on old enough to remember the SNP, lib dems and UKIP all as odd little parties which were a bit of a joke and 'no way' likely to do very much.

Le Pen has a number of criminal investigations to worry about if she's not elected. She is likely to lose her (European) parliamentary immunity shortly.

Like UKIP and Farage, the FN is the Le Pen family. If she is convicted and has to stand down, the party will struggle. It's already had difficulty finding itself an interim president; the holocaust denier had to stand down, so they now have a president who is under investigation for making death threats against an elected official and for disseminating hate speech on social media.

Le Pen senior is unelectable, and Marine's niece (the other high profile Le Pen) is by all accounts as thick as two short planks, even by FN standards.

Thank goodness, sounds like Macron has a firm win.
