Genuine question for Muslims re The Qur’an/Jesus

Hi,

I wonder if you could help. I've read recently that Jesus is mentioned in the Koran. Is that correct? And do you mind me asking how Muslims in general view Jesus? Where does he sit within Islamic doctrine?

All feedback much appreciated.

Jesus is regarded as a prophet as is John the Baptist.

Muhammad pbuh is the last prophet sent by Allah, and his teachings the most accurate.

Allah says in His Book:
"..when the angels said, o Mary, indeed Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary. He will be honored in this life and in the next, and will be of those close to Allah." (3:45)
" Surely the example of Jesus, in Allahs sight, is like that of Adam. He created him from dust and said "Be!" and he was."(3:59)
from this, Muslims believe in his immaculate conception, he was born from Mary alone, with no biological father.

Jesus performed miracles to the people, by the permission of the Creator:
" (when) she pointed to him, they asked, "how can we talk to a child in the cradle?" He (Jesus) replied, " indeed I am a servant of Allah. He gave me a scripture and made me a prophet"(19: 29-30) ( there re other miracles Jesus performed fr the people during his time, which are not mentioned in the bible)

we believe he was a messenger sent with a book, the Injeel (Gospels):
" and remember when Jesus son of Mary said, " o children of Isreal, i am the messenger of Allah sent to you, confirming the Torah which came before me" (61:6)

he was a man not divine:

" The Messiah, Son of Mary, was no more than a messenger, and many messengers passed away before him. His mother was exceedingly truthful, and they both ate food. See how I have made the signs (proofs) clear to them, yet see how they are deluded." (5:75)

he was not killed, rather he was raised up to Allah.

" and their saying, "we killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary" but they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, rather it was made to seem that way to them. And those who differ about it are full of doubts. They are of no knowledge about it, and follow instead conjecture. They did not kill him for certain, for Allah raised him up to Himself. And Allah is All Powerful, All Wise" (4:157-158)

Hi!

The Qur'an devotes a full chapter to Mary, the mother of Jesus PBUH, known as Surah(verse)Maryam.
This chapter clarifies the immaculate conception of Jesus (PBUH). That He only needs to say "be" and it is.
Surah Maryam clarifies the chastity and purity of Mary.
Muslims always follow the name of Jesus with the words Peace Be Upon Him. He is very highly regarded in Islam. He was a prophet. That to call him the Son of God is blasphemy. There is no God but Allah.
Surah Maryam clarifies that Jesus PBUH was raised up alive by Allah, did not die on the cross and that Jesus PBUH will have a second coming.
Hope this helps.
