I love my mum very much, but from when I was 9 she had been ill on and off, nervous breakdowns, panic attacks so on, I spent years "rushing" her to the hospital with her latest heart attack, stroke of what ever she thought it was at the time and it always being "her nerves"
Well any way a few years ago she was diagnosed of dietetic and given pills to take to balance her blood sugar, she would not take them as she was scared they would react badly with her anti depressants, so she sat and smoked and ate chocolate, stuck her head in the sand and did little to look after herself. So she got an ulcer on her foot, I have to admit her Dr was useless and just kept dishing out antibiotic that did not work. it has got worse and worse and has started to smell so yesterday My sister and I took her to the hospital and they have kept her in and will be operating today to try and clean the dead flesh, please pray that it work and that it has not gone to the bone, I am so scared she will lose her leg and she can not /does not look after herself with two legs she will be helpless with only one.

Praying Kimi, would you like her to be added to the prayer thread? More people might see it there...

Kimi, mothers like that are such hard work. Mine was a bit like that, always ill or underway, suffering from depression, but she finally died, mercifully quick from a stroke at the age of 86. It looks like you are in for a much longer haul and you have all my sympathies and prayers. To see someone suffering like that is just horrible.

Thank you, MaryBS that would be very kind,
Went to see mum today , they have not operated yet as they have cleaned the ulcer and have dressed it,but they are having trouble finding a pulse in her foot so she will have a scan tomorrow and go from there.
We are praying she will not lose her foot/leg.
Can you believe she was still asking me to go get her sweets
Felt like screaming you stupid woman do you not see where you are and why you're here!!!!
Will update tomorrow

I am so sorry, kimi. What a lot you have to deal with.

Oh, Kimi, what a stressful time for you. Have you had a good chat with her nurses yet? They will be the best people to listen to you and answer your questions. You could also ask them to make sure that a dietician visits her whilst she is in hospital and educates her. I've looked after many people like your mum and know how difficult it is for family members to deal with. I will pray for your mother's discomfort and for a quick resolution to her situation. Also for your peace of mind. Try and let the nurses take on the hard task of caring for your mother at the moment. You need a break from it and they are there for you as much as for her.

Mums foot is healing, but there was no pulse so they did a scan and found (not surprisingly) her veins in her stomach and chest are fuzzy so today she will have an angioplasty and if that does not improve things they are talking about a by pass!

DS2 is very upset nanny is ill and DS1 who has tourettes is ticking like a clock on acid (stress makes it worse)

Will be going to the hospital soon, will up date when I can, Thank you all for your goo thoughts

Mum is still in Hospital, her foot is healing but they are deciding now what to do about her blocked arteries, Angioplasty, Stents or by pass!
Then just to add to the fun and games DS1 was rushed to hospital on Saturday with an appendicitis, he is home now and doing well, DS2 is very tearful I think it is all too much for a small boy to cope with

Oh Kimi, I think it is too much for a little Mummy to cope with as well...
