Giant dog bed..............where can i find one?

morethanyoubargainfor · 06/08/2009 13:55

I have spent most of the day trying to find my curly lad a huge bed, he already has one for downstairs but he sleeps with us overnight and has had a giant beanbag up until now, as it has burst! So i am looking for a soft bed for him but it needs to be atleast 38inches wide (if not wider),a nd probably about 34-36inches deep. I know it will cost so don't worry about price, but i do need one that we can take with us to europe in a couple of weeks and one that is easily transported to other places.

Please help i am going stir crazy!

TIA

We got one from costco recently. Zip cover which can be taken off and washed. No idea of size but it certainly was fine for our very large male great dane!

Have you looked on EBAY? My motto is, if in doubt look on EBAY

These were recommended to me by another MNetter and are excellent:

thanks all for replies. I have looked on ebay but always get a bit jittery about buying stuff like this and just can't do it

Bella which do you have? they look good but can't decide on one for the lad as he likes to be cocooned by sides! That was why he had the beanbag (that wasn't bought for him in the first place but he adopted it) because he gets on it and sinks! and he is a heavy lug.

I had seen them, but was at the price.

I get the commercial fabric in the ones I linked to - I reckon if it's good enough for the police, it's good enough for me!

Bit rustly when my dobe scrabbles like mad to get herself into exactly the right postion. Lab just flops...

I know what you mean Bella! still tempted tho'

Thanks for link spugs unfortunatley they don't have sides so to speak and knowing what a clutz my lad is he will fall off it then spend half the night wandering around wondering what had happened to him.

blondes i can't really have anything for him that can't travel! the one he has downstairs is pretty unmovable, so really need one that we can take with us where ever we go, (give a dog a passsport and he will travel ) I really do like the bagel bes, it just looks so cosy and comfy, but can i justify the price?

£140 - thats 38p a day for one years useage - surely your dh will think your woofa is worth .38p a day?

and if uses it for 2 years thats 19p per day

let alone 3/4years so 5p a day

a mere bargain

offer sexual favours to dh - thats you not the dog

What about a Bia bed? They are wide and long, if not as deep as you want, and incredibly comfortable. We've got one for our springer and I would happily snuggle up in it.

Don't think the people who run this site can get them at the moment (they are friends of a friends of mine), but you might get a second hand one on ebay.

thanks for that blondes, when you put it that way it doesn't seem to need justifying

Might keep sexual favours under hat for now, you know what with christmas coming up!!

Think i should just buy it.

our mattress for our king size bed was £800 and dh was omg - till i told him how much useage he- it would get .........

thats 8hrs hours sleep a night

btw - does dh mind woofa watching your favours if dog is in your bedroom?

Dog can spend a little time on his own downstairs, will only be 5 minutes he won't mind, he can cope that long!

What about a big bit of vet bed and then just put some hotel pillows/cushions around it!
Vet bed is very comfy and keeps them warm/cool. Plus it rolls up, you can wash it and its not horribly expensive.
