Kennel club registration - if breeder will not register will kennelclub do it themselves?

I boughta puppy, very good line, 5 generation cert, no KC registration.

Breeder refuses because she disagrees with showing dogs (which I have absolutly NO intention of doing!)

If I ring the kennel club will they be able to help me in any way?

Can they register her without the breeders 'permission'?

I cannot return her, breeder has offered this, but already we are too attatched to her to let her go, even though we spent alot of money and wanted a KC registered dog.

The seller did tell us she wouldn't register but we thought we could do it ourselves.

I don't know enough about this - I suggest you call the Kennel Club tomorrow if no-one else comes along who does know.

I paid top money for my 2 KC reg dogs but only because I wanted ones that had all the health screening - the KC reg in itself is meaningless to me.

tbh I am a bit confused as to why this is so important to you - so much so that you are considering exchanging the dog.

Because I wanted to do it right Bella,

we were offered a very cheap pup but didn't know the background and decided if we were going to get a pup we woul go the whole hog and get one that was registered and properly bred.

I'm suprised how many people question wanting KC registration when it seems to come as standard in 90% of pedigree dogs.

Like if you want it you are going to overbreed or over show (non of which Im planing on doing at all, ever!)

But my older dog has a little folder with his cert in it and seeing as though I paid £100 over the average price Id like her to be registered.

and bella you say ... tbh I am a bit confused as to why this is so important to you - so much so that you are considering exchanging the dog.

If you read my post it says I CANNOT return her, I am considering no such thing! she is now our darling doggy but I was hoping to get her registered.

Well, you were considering exchanging her on your previous thread.

You paid £100 more but the breeder told you the pups wouldn't be KC reg, so it was up to you to find out if you could do it yourself. You may still be able to.

I still can't see the point in what you admit is a piece of paper.

Did you check out the health screening of the parents? tbh that is so much more important than KC reg.

If the breeder doesnt want the dog to be shown or bred from they can put restrictions on the pedigree. Mine has it on hers for breeding but it will be lifted once she is 18 mths has had all her health checks and has been shown.
WOuld she not register the dog if there were restrictions and you signed a contract?
