yes i have seen it with my own 2 eyes

the monster puppy got in the boot of the car!!! shock

gp's have been training him every night since sunday and they i saw yesterday that he got in the car and

<wait for it>

they used a harness type of lead to get him to the car,which was snug over his nose and he had to go where they led him and then placed cheese and meat in the boot and kept saying up

first he wasnt having any of it - but as the days went by - he was helped getting front paws up,and then lifted up,next day he put front paws up and gps lifted his 10.5stone arse up grin

next day, woffa did it himself - not using a ramp!!

<blonde faints>

gp's said they would carry on and hopefully when im back there on monday, i will have a go and see if i can do it

<blonde trembles>

gp's said they will be having STERN words with db and he will have to continue this training EVERY night

Would they like to train my dog? grin
It's another thing we need to get her to do...

KingCanuteIAm Thu 04-Jun-09 20:44:44

Ahh but you have to get him in before you can take a pic you know Blonde wink grin

Great that he has started though, hopefully it will show db what can happen with a bit of consistancy grin

i saw him yesterday - he got in BY his self!!!!

we are having this battle of wills too !
Doglet (8m) will jump in if she is off the lead but if she is on the lead she refuses. We live on a cul-de-sac so I was letting her jump in off the lead BUT then one day she saw a cat and ran off and I stupidly hadn't put DD in the car first so had to jog off down the cul-de-sac with DD on hip. Fortunately nice man washing his car grabbed her collar and brought her back.
I've been keeping her on the lead to get from house to car again but get fed up getting muddy from lifting her rear legs up into the boot of the car (at the end of the walk) but the last 3 days she has leapt into the car with the lead on as if she has been doing it this way all her life.
This is a HUGE breakthrough so Blonde I'm sharing your joy!!!

Blondeshavemorefun Thu 04-Jun-09 22:47:04

yah smac

and yes this is a MAJOR breakthrough

after not being able to get huge monster puppy in to car last week after he got nosey stung by a few bees -was a nightmare

i had visons of himdying as couldnt get him to the vet and face swelled up badle and breathing was shallow

luckily vet said to give piraton- 10stone dog=20mls every 4hrs

Quite fitting really to use a headcollar (halti/gentle leader) on your horse dog.

Good idea to put in haynet in for him too, sweetie.

Have fun at the gymkhanawink

what type of dog is it that its so big as a puppy??

sounds huge
and well done that he is now getting in by himself

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 05-Jun-09 14:36:56

trinty - he is a great swiss mountain dog

he about 6ft when lying down and streched out

long dog

TrinityRhino Fri 05-Jun-09 14:38:42

wow that is one BIG dog
soo cute and not surprising you wanted him to get in the car by himself grin

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 05-Jun-09 15:21:19

yep he is big

and very cute - he is very loving - sometimes a bit too much so!!

doggiesayswoof Fri 05-Jun-09 15:23:45

Bee-stung pup refusing to get in sounds v v stressful indeed.

GPs sound fab.

I am trying to picture the scene...

I guess you have a big car?

Blondeshavemorefun Fri 05-Jun-09 15:45:38

s max - 7 seater or 5 and dog in boot

poor woofa - he was so swollen - guess he wont play with bees again!!
