Home check for rehoming a dog

Hi guys. Me and my partner have a home check tomorrow evening for (hopefully) rehoming a dog, we live in a rented property and I put in our request form last week but they haven't got back to us about it yet.

I'm worried the lady doing our home check will refuse us for not having proof in time or am I just being a little too nervous??

We do have a cat already and I highly doubt our landlord will say no to a dog, anyone had a home check that have been asked about this??

Thanks

I think that when I registered with Battersea they made a point of asking me if I was allowed to have pets in my flat (I own it but it is leasehold and the lease does state I can have up to two pets), so it might be that she will talk to you about it but I imagine it varies from rescue to rescue. Battersea didn't want to do a home check on me. I lived in outer East London and I'd just lost my old dog and they believed my, truthful, history of dog owning/experience. They did need to see pictures of the inside of my flat and also my garden. They spent a long time talking to me so I think they were convinced all would be OK if they didn't do a homecheck.

I’ve done homechecks for both cat and dog charities
I would ask about Landlords permission but if you didn’t have it and I was happy with everything else I would pass you but make a note that we should see the permission letter before placing a dog with you
