Bees

I'm in SE London with rear bit of a long garden surrounded by unkept land .

Have a bee keeping friend who lives in Cornwall .Last summer she put a hive in our garden which became home to a ( her description ) small colony .
Sadly it absconded .

She replaced the hive with a smaller one ( nucleus ???) with frames . When she visited she looked at it and said it had wax moth .

What do I need to do now to make it attractive to any bees swarming ?

Really I'm trying to rekindle my son ( in 20s ) interest . But my friend will gratefully receive any newly colonised hive if that fails .

And ...any recommendations for courses in SE London area or Kent or Surrey ?

Check the British Bee Keepers Association website for your nearest association. We are thinking of keeping bees and I've recently done a beginners course in North West London after finding local associations through the BBKA.
It looks like there are associations in Bromley and Croydon for example.
