This is going to sound crazy!!!!!!

We recently moved into a house and before us a man and his cat lived here. The man died and i am unsure what ever happened to his cat..... but on the front door there were scratch marks and some in the bedroom too. So lately we keep hearing scratching on the front door! It's at random times of the day and me and my partner have heard it and people who are visiting us have heard it! We quickly look out of th front window or run to the door to look out the window on the door but there is never anything there and it stops as soon as we look. I'm highly confused and now my partner and his friends are making jokes about a ghost cat!!

No I'm certain it's a cat as there were white hairs all over the carpets so he must have had a white cat. This noise we hear comes from the outside of the front door we were in the living room and clearly heard the front door being sctrached on more than one occasion, it's so odd

My neighbours shut their cat out at night (why get a cat if you don't want it in your house?!) and he wakes us up clawing and crying at the back door at 2am!
I'd hate to think there's a poor kitty trying to get into your house :(

Are you sure it's outside the front door? Could be rodents in the cavity wall / under floorboards etc.
