if you neuter either, there is no difference
WE have had 2 boys (neutered) 3 girls
All have wandered and got squashed
We have one girl left who seems to be clever and stays close to home
She is far far fatter than the others though

i've got one of each - brother and sister - both neutered as soon as they could have been and i'd agree that there is no difference. both different personalities - but no major differences between them. both lovely, both naughty and both pesky !

my male cat is due to be done soon

hes stupid, and affectionate, but he eats my toes when i am sleeping and he tried to wake me by rubbing his bum on my face this morning

he is in and out of the house, doesnt go too far

I thought male cats marked their territory (sp?)
...they wee everywhere! Our friends have neutered male cats and they still do it.

We've had 3 females(neutered) and they were lovely pets.

I have 2 boys and a girl all neutered, no difference at all.

I've had 5 neutered males and none of them have weed.

Never personally noticed any difference between the neutered males we have had and the neutered females.

Females are more expensive to have done because its more complicated. Gender makes no difference when they have been done.

I have heard you have to neuter a male cat when he is quite young to prevent the territory-marking behavior.

I've got a female cat and she doesn't stray far from home at all. There are loads of 'lads' in neighbouring gardens and although they fight a lot, none of them come and terrorise our cat. When it has happened she has put them firmly in their place actually!

look under their hind legs, its obvious

i have an unneutered male and he's extremely affectionate and rarely wanders nowadays.

the only difference i've noticed between male and female cats is that the males tend to be a bit needier. the females i've had have been independent stroppy things who boss everyone around whereas the males are more docile affectionate, even unneutered.
