How does someone get from saying the word definitely to spelling it defiantly?

I can really undersatnd definatelym because of how it is pronounced sometimes, but I'm perplexed at defiantly.

Any ideas?

Are they defiantly mispelling definitely?

I always assume it's typing 'definately', which is then autocorrected to 'defiantly'. That's my theory anyway. 'Definately' and 'seperately' are two spelling mistakes I really can't get wound up about, not while 'alot' lives and breathes, anyway ;)

i've done this quite a few times on my laptop and i can only put it down to tying too fast and laziness. i know how to spell definitely, but im a lazy typist and rarely care that i spell stuff incorrectly on an internet forum. i take more care on my C.V Wink

Ahha, I think that's it, it's an autocorrect of an understandable mis-spelling.

That makes sense.

Phew, can sleep tonight.
