Paninis?

Surely this is wrong, as panini is already plural?

We don't say "spaghettis".

We don't say spaghetto for one though, do we? Paninis is Anglicised. Probably pizze is the correct plural of pizzas, but we don't say 'I'm shoving a couple of pizze in the oven' do we? I would stick with paninis. Life's too short.

I saw plateau pluralised to plateaus yesterday, which really annoyed me. Imagine doing that with chateau or gateau! life as we know it would end Like I said, life's too short. Stick with the Anglicised way

You can say "two panini please" if you like, without the S, but if you say "one panino please" people will think you are being a ponce.

"Panini" is now an anglicised word meaning a hot squished melted sandwich with a particular kind of bread.

The word has been adopted into English and now follows English rules.

Oxford dictionary says "often toasted" but I can't think of an untoasted example.

I agree. While technically wrong, we need to take into account the fact it has been anglicised.

My uncle says sauna (sau rhyming with now) and iKAYah (for IKEA) because that's how they say them in skandinavia, apparently. Doesn't make it right here though. He just sounds a bit twattish.

I disagree, it hasn't been assimilated anything like the degree pizza or spaghetti has. Singular panini is still wrong, and plural paninis. Like when people pronounce bruschetta 'brooshetta'.

I also enjoy it when my wife squirms in embarrassment when i say them properly At least i don't roll my rs and wave my arms about wile saying them! I'm not 100% bellend.
