splat cooking parties

bump -- party date a month away and would really love to know if it's worth the cost or if I could just as easily do it myself. Not v confident when it comes to kids parties! anyone?

Do it yourself. Basic cake ingrediants, mix the mixture, bake the cakes ice them and let them take them home. They could also do some nice choc chip cookies or raisin and oatmeal cookies. Along the theme of cooking they could all top their own pizza to cook for lunch.

hey i'm cheaper! if you're near Carlisle I can do you a cooking party for around £60. I use really easy but way more creative recipes than just fairy cakes! have a look at my website and you'll see what i mean www.fantasweetscookingparties.synthasite.com children have a great imagination so i use recipes that they can go mad with but still are really easy to follow. Its worth doing and doesn't have to cost the earth xx

I recently used a really brilliant company called Rascals Fayre in Bristol www.rascalsfayre.co.uk who delivered everything I needed to run a childrens cooking party even all the ingredients were ready weighed (phew!!). Also the kids take all the equipment they've used home and the cookies they've baked so no need for party bags. They recommend ages 6 up but my 5 year old had no problems. They also supplied the invitations and a leaflet before hand which gave me numerous tips and ideas. It was fantastic. In fact I know of one little boy who still gets his apron out everyday to help his mum!!

Hi, have to add here Splat Cooking don't just do fairy cakes, the children make their own lunch or tea and everything is additive free, there's even a healthy option and the recipes are aimed for the age of the child too. They take tonnes home with them and don't just a sugar overload, it's proper cooking.

Splat's team are really professional, they've all got to go through a full training programme before they're let loose with real customers and if they can't come to you as you're too far or they're fully booked they'll put together a DIY option which is great too, just not quite so relaxing.

My son goes to their cookery class every Saturday and he brings home the most wonderful things, they did asparagus wraps a couple of weeks ago and it was better than anything I've ever made for a dinner party, he even ate the asparagus.
