I'm having family over 12-3 then some of her friends will pop over for cake after that (huge family, can't cope with all of them together) What food should I have? Do Ineed to do party bags for the babies? Trying to do it on the cheap if I can. I want food that DD will eat, but obviously stuff that grown ups will like too. Any ideas people?

Given that it's only her first birthday, try not to run yourself ragged with it. If she's anything like my son at that age, she'll be so excited she'll hardly eat anything so focus on stuff for grown ups who'll appreciate it and just do a small bit for her. Babies don't need party bags, it's only the expectation of their parents. A balloon each will surely be enough.

Party bags for babies? NOOOOOO they won't understand them, you don't need the hassle or the expense, and others with 1 year olds with thank you for setting that precedent.

Food: keep it simple. Focus on it being your DDs birthday, not the food.

Sandwiches; breadsticks/cucumber/carrot sticks (with dips and maybe a bag of tortilla chips for the adults); little sausages; pizza - sliced for adults, cut into little square for the little ones - ditto quiche; cheese cubes.
Grapes/strawberries/banana/apple slices
Served with cheese and biscuits for the adults.
Birthday cake.
Sorted!
