hire a hall and have various games like pass the parcel, musical bumps, may be a magician or similar?

a small indoor bouncy castle thingy in a hall?

What about a colour theme with his favourite colour? So easy (and cheap) to do - have a blue sweets table / party bags with blue toys in, a blue birthday cake, get guests to wear blue, have a face painter doing different blue designs?

We hired a hall.
DS is obsessed with dinosaurs. All the kids had mini sandpits and 'dug' dinosaur fossils...musical dinosaurs, line up and go on a dinosaur adventure

I made dinosaur shaped sandwiches, dinosaur gingerbread, dinosaur cupcakes, dinosaur cake... You get the idea!
