We are intending to have a party at home - hopefully using garden and a marquee of some sort next September 2007. Hoping to get some form of catering so we don't have to do all the work but I was wondering about some form of low key entertainment - music group or something. any ideas?

a friend of mine does table magic (but think this could be done in a buffet style venue as well) = goes down well at these anniversarys, 40th 50th bdays, corporate dos etc. he serves berks and surrounding counties if any help

Sounds interesting - went to a show at the Magic Circle in London a few years ago - they had various magicians performing to small groups of people. I got picked and the guy somehow made my ring appear in his keyholder and I have no idea how. We are in Herts so the person you know might be a possibility. Does he have an email or website?

I used to play in a clarinet/sax quartet in the UK and we often did parties/weddings/conferences etc., playing music for people to dance to or just as background. you could get a string quartet too, or a wind quintet or anything. The sax quartet was cool, I used to arrange tunes that people requested for their parties/wedings so they got things they really wanted.

to find one - google really. Wedding planners/venues often have lists of groups plus most groups have their own websites these days. Or a local music college/university music dept might help you.

Sax quartets are pretty cool.

My partner also does close up magic - he's worked at quite a few parties at home and works in the Herts area - his website is here: www.dangifford.com
