Anyone else had to a toddler who's progress has came to a halt or infact regressed a bit?

Ds, 2 and a half, is absolutely refusing to use potty or toilet, furthermore has no confidence about not having a nappy on for more than a few seconds! literally.
he also doesnt seem to want to spend quality time with me anymore - he'd much rather busy himself and im apparently not allowed to help him with anything.
he is perfectly amazing with his sister and shows no jealously or resentment but all this has been sprung on me in the last 2 months (dd is 5mnths)

just a bit frustrated! im usually so confident in my parenting but this has left me uncertain how i plan to go about it and tbh...upset.
Any thoughts?

Quite normal for 2yr olds to regress with potty training I think.

As for wanting to do more independently, that is perfectly normal too!!!! Don't see it as him rejecting 'quality time' with you. Quality Time is a horrible word made up by adults and used by them.

You are there to help him become an independant man, allowing him the space to do this by playing independantly is good for him.
