Please remind me that it's just fine to let 2 week old ds sleep on me.

Today he hasn't slept in his basket. Not a shock atall for countless newborns I know, but he has been going in it everyday so far. ( I know they change all the time too)

He's bf pretty much all morning since half 9. And now he's asleep on my shoulder.

I want to put him down as I am (stupidly) worrying that the more times he sleeps on me , the less he'll want to sleep in his basket.

But I don't want him to wake up!!!!

Dh says put him down, like we've done every other day....
but he doesn't have to feed him if he wakes!!!

I wouldn't disturb him! Enjoy having him go to sleep on you - my ds is now 7mo and rarely does and I really miss it! Ime having him sleep on me didn't make any difference to him going to sleep in his carrycot at night. In fact one book I read suggested that carrying your baby all the time (and letting them sleep on you) helped them to feel more secure and therefore more likely to sleep well in their cots.

Please don't worry about it. My DS would often sleep on me when he was tiny and I used to worry about 'making a rod for my back'. That wasn't the case at all though and I wish I had relaxed and enjoyed it more. Put a film on and snuggle up.

Enjoy it!

Feet up, chill and absorb the moment.

It passes all too soon.

How lovely...don't think! just do what comes naturally. It is the most natural thing in the world for your baby to sleep on you, and good that it means you just have to sit there and relax and enjoy!

Thanks everyone

I left him for a bit then dh made me some soup (he popped home for lunch) so I put him in his pram, didn't want to burn him...
But he woke after about 5 minutes Just like dd used to.

So dh put him in his chair and he really cried He's hardly cried since he's been born.
Then dh held him and he fell asleep. He doesn't do this as much on me, he knows I have milk.

Then when dh left again he put him in his pram and he slept for 3 hours.

I think he was a bit aggitated this morning because we did things differently. It was the first day I'd done the morning school run.

I do LOVE him sleeping on me, all snuffly and snug. He is sooo cute and adorable, but I can't shake the 'he'll get used to it' feeling. Plus I end up not eating/getting drinks/weeing for hours! etc.
