6.5 month DD screams if I leave her for a moment - wont even go to DH - what can I do?

In the past couple of weeks DD has become excessively clingy and will only let me hold her. Even if I give her to DH she cries and cries (which is understandably upsetting him).
I know this is a phase but she seems so upset. Is there anything I can do? I want her to grow up to be a happy confident little thing and am worried that I have made her anxious when she was sunnynatured to begin with.
Also worried that MIL and SIL are going to find it difficult when they see her for the first time since she started like this -in the past she went happily to them.
Please help!

My dd (also 6 and a bit months) is going through this phase too. It's much, much worse when she's tired, so maybe make sure your dd is well rested and fed before your MIL and SIL see her?

Don't worry about her being clingy - ds went through this phase too at around the same age and is now a happy, confident, outgoing and independent little boy at 2 and a half! grin

you just have to go with it I'm afraid. All I can suggest is to get dh to do as much as possible with her when he is home.

It does get better and it isn't anything to do with you just personality I think. (3dc 2 very relaxed and sociable, 1 who thinks the umbilical cord is still attached)

Yes DH getting very upset at her not wanting to be with him....she has just refused dreamfeed bottle from him which made it worse

Are you sure she still needs her dreamfeed? My friend's baby dropped the dreamfeed at around this age.

This too shall pass. smile

Nothing. Wait. Let her cling when she needs to - she's learning to be a separate person. It will change. And then you will be sad when she only want to have daddy out her to bed... winksmile
