Waterproofs for a toddler

DS will be aged between 2.6 and 3 this coming winter. Was just wondering whether kids of this age wear all-in-ones or separate jackets and trousers? And can anyone recommend good waterproofs that are not really expensive?

I think separates are more suitable (particularly if you're potty training at some point in the future). Jojomamanbebe have a nice range in waterproofs.

Good point about potty training,

But we found the puddle suit to be completely invaluable when on muddy splashy trips (as opposed to walking round town), I recommend it to everyone, we had DS on the floor literally rolling in puddles and still staying toasty warm and dry!

Buttercup, we had that one last season. Was fine for all the snow we had and was cheap at the local outdoors shop.
Maybe we'll look for some separates in that range.

We've got excellent all in ones from our local camping/millets type shop. Brand is Regatta, they were £15.

TBH I have found thatyou have to help take down waterproof trousers on them at that age anway so no different to have an all in one or separates i would say.

I've had them all and Togz were definitely the best.

I always get separates for urgent loo trips. I also find the coat is often very useful on it's own. Sometimes they don't need/it's too hot for all over cover. Also in warmer non rainy weather mine use just the trousers to go in streams,puddles etc.

Don't get the dungaree trousers just the pull up type ones they can pull them down very easily then and they don't get wet in the rain as are still covered on top.

Also if they do have an accident in all in ones you're stuffed with the separates they've still got a coat to wear.

i've just got mine both rukka raincoats and dungarees

they look hilarious, but they sure won't get wet

limited choice of colours but can pick up cheap on ebay

Not if you're planning on potty training soon.

Separates also last a lot longer, I always get at least 2 years out of mine (dtwin1 is nearly 6 and in 3 year pull up trousers,he'll fit them for another year at least,might be a bit shorter but they'll do the job)with all in ones they grow out of them so quickly.
