Warning about swimming shorts with those net inners...

My best friend on holiday called me in shock yesterday- Her DS who is 4 caught his willy in the net inner of his swim shorts and managed to tear his foreskin really badly

He was hysterical as you can probably imagine and she was in shock. Loads of blood and not a good way to start their holiday. All he was doing was jumping into the pool!

Not really sure where to post this but i'm just a bit that such an accident could happen!

God thats shocking fortunetely I have dd's so that doesnt count but dh wears shorts with the inner lining in them. I will pass on the information and it will be just another reason for him to hate swimming.

I wouldn't have even thought of it happening! Her poor DS- its the first holiday they have been on as well and the end of a very tough year for them both.

Oh god - that happend to my DS (age 3) when we went swimming. Wasn't sure what had happened at the time but later realised - it wasn't too serious but there was a lot of blood and he couldn't wee without screaming in pain for a couple of days.

Thanks for the warning, My DS was given a pair of these and has been wearing them recently. Am going to get him some other types as I never thought of that.

oh gosh, poor little thing.

I knew there was a reason I always buy DS tight fitted swimming shorts.

Omg, thanks for this message I had no idea that could happen! Will look for some new swimming shorts for DS.

I was eyeing them up as well the other day. DS has got too big for his swim nappies- think i'll stick to the lycra ones now.

This happened to my friends ds when we went on holiday with them. He must have been about 7 at the time and all the mums ended up crowding around as his foreskin swelled like a baloon, trying to free him from the mesh. I had a small first aid kit in my bag and remember trying to cut the mesh away with a pair of nail scissors without cutting his skin! We all panicked a bit tbh.

I had forgotoon about this but have never got my ds any shorts with mesh, only swiming trunks.

I think the mesh is there to keep it from dangling out, and its mesh to allow water to flow easily, poor boy

As the adult ones have these as well I think a poo catcher is unlikely. I think they are fall catching other 'objects' that may fall out . Although for small kids I think such fallout would be unusual - perhaps it's just so that they can be like Dad?

I guess the size of the mesh needs looking at in some brands then.

I wasn't thinking about the logic of the mesh in the adult ones. Lol at the 'poo catching' idea then! you'd hope that most men are toilet trained by then!

Owwwwwwwwwww-ch. Manly sympathy for him. I had a horrible feeling this was going to be a balls related injury (which would have been worse).

I guess the net is so your boys stay in the barracks, but water can still drain through.
