amby baby nest - any experience?

Am 6m pg with dc3. thinking of trying this bed out as have read good things about it. It costs quite a lot though, and am not sure if it's worth it as it seems baby will only be in it for a few months - up to abut 9m I think?

Don't want to waste money on a moses basket. But full size cots seem so huge for newborns!

I bought one when my second baby was tiny. She was not happy in the moses basket and was waking constantly. Anyway, she did not like it and woke more! It turned out that she wanted to sleep on her tummy (she rolled very early) and this was not popssible in the nest.

Sooo I thought it was a complete waste of money. BUT...my third baby also hated the moses basket and the cot and was only happy sleeping on me. So I tried the nest and he loves it. He is now having naps in it during the day and goes down awake. He also sleeps in it at night and although still not a great sleeper things are much better.

So all in all ...it depends on the baby....

Also...my instructions say it can be used up to aged 2. Can't see how myself but certainly longer than 9 months I would have thought.

Used one for a baby in the past, she settled in it in minutes as she could self rock at 8wks and was very content.

Current baby charge has the Leander so flat but again suspended and loves the motion but easy to settle in non moving cot too.

part of the appeal is that when new baby is about 6m we'll be moving back to the uk from the usa - I like the thought of bringing his bed with us on the flight so he can get straight into it, ie no transition in a travel cot while we wait for our furniture to arrive, iyswim.

I know it depends on the baby - I had a hammock thing for dd which was alright, but not great...suppose I can always ebay it if it doesn't work out (and ds2 ends up in bed with me - which will probably happen anyway!)

My DD has used hers since birth and she has slept really well in hers, in fact she is pretty much sleeping through the night at 11 weeks. Only complaint would be that its meant to be for up to 12 months and I am pretty sure she will grow out of it before then.

We have one and used it with great success for ds1 and ds2. Current ds3 is 7 weeks and refuses to sleep in it. But then again, we co-sleep with him at night and only wanted it for the day whereas the others went in it for all sleeps from day 1.

We had one for DD from birth. I have just moved her out at 10m (but she was on the 91 percentile and is huge!). We loved it, used it as a travel cot etc and also took to family do's so we could put her down for a sleep in the day. Everyone's always fascinated by it, espeically at how quick it is to put up/ down. I think they're wonderful and certainly helped with DD's sleeping.

My DS has plagiocephaly (flat head) which he is being treated for, but I would definitely buy one of these for (hopefully!) future babies, as it prevents it.
