Exactly what the title says really. My ds is 2 in a few weeks, He goes to nursery 3 full days a week, spends mon with mil, fri with my mum and weekends with me and his dad. I am getting a little concerned that he isnt spending enough time with other children.

I would like him to go to some kind of play/toddler group. Both his nanas have said that they would like to take him too. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Thanks

gosh how weird I grew up in Newton and it's strange to see if written on a thread!

I don't know of any groups - would there be notices up in the supermarkets/shops in Earlestown? or local doctors' surgery?

Oh I've just spotted Mon and Fri, well there 2 in Lowton. Mon mornings at St Lukes church at 9 for 2 hours, that starts again in Sept, and one at Lane head methodist church on Friday mornings, not sure of the times or if its term time only as I've not been to that one as dd is too young.

Really bundle? My family are from Warrington/Newton but I now live in Norfolk.

There are def p&t groups in Newton as my mum's friend takes her dgc to one, don't know the details but could find out if needed. There must be tons in Warrington, surely?

i bet there's loads in warrington. which side? could try for notices up in eg the big tesco in town or any shops. would the local children's information service have lists like they do of playgroups etc?

There are a few classes listed here Looks like Newton has a childrens centre too so they must have something one.

Bundle - I have lots of family in Newton/Earlestown, I think they keep the conservative club solvent.

sorry i didn't reply, only just got back to the computer!

I have found a few in Warrington, so far the ones i have found are for term time only - i am a teacher and was hoping to take him to some suring the summer hols (his nanas would take him during term time)

I haven't found a single one in newton though but maybe i am just not looking hard enough. i will ask at the local clinic to see if they have any suggestions.

As for the conservative club my dh and fil are regulars (i m told that the beer is very cheap) plus it has the added bonus that it is 'men only'

Just in case you are still looking, there is a Children's centre in Earlestown just off of Cross Lane, next to the CoE school, behind Netto. It's a Sure Start and has stay n play on Tuesdays & Fridays. Portage group on Wednesday morning and a breast feeding support group on Friday mornings. There are also weekly off-site activities on Thursdays, and a pre-natel yoga group (not sure what day). So there are tons of things to do at the Children's Centre, stay n play is the most popular, the later in the day the more busy it gets. Fees for stay n play is 50p, and the Thursday outtings vary in cost, breast feeding support drop-in is free...and not too sure about the rest. Hope that helps!
