Toys for 4 month old?

Hi,

I have a 4 month old baby boy. I’d like to get him some toys to play with and to entertaining himself with, but I’m at a loss as to what to buy. I don’t want to waste money on toys that aren’t really going to be used. Any suggestions?

Thank you! X

I would put together a sensory basket (can Google for ideas). Mirrors and rattles are good. The nuby mitt that is crinkly with a Teething bit on the end. A rubber toothbrush to hold and chew on.

Mine loved the Lamaze (and similar) soft toys at that age.

Mine just turned five months - favourite toys here over the last couple of months include rattles - especially the Winkel rattle as it's so easy for her to grab hold of, Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes (though at four months we generally had to press the button for her), cloth books with the crinkly pages (though these also drive her crazy so have to be taken away after a couple of minutes Grin), we have a Fisher Price Tummy Time mirror that also contains crinkly cellophane so good for looking at herself and scrunching maniacally. We've been given various other things but those are the ones that have had the most use.

Oh, Lamaze Freddy Firefly also popular. And whether or not teething she loves to chew on the Nuby teethers that are long and thin - shaped like corn/banana/shark. They're the only ones that seem to be the right shape for her to easily hold and get in her mouth at the right angle for chewing
