Eating Fluff!

Hi as title says I'm looking for help regarding my nearly 3 year old eating Fluff!.

I started noticing her doing it after her 2nd Birthday and can't seem to get her to stop.

She constantly picks at jumpers hers or mine and eats the wee bobbly bits .

So I can't let her wear Knitwear or she just spends all day eating it.

Now she's started with socks and other items.

I don't make a fuss or try to stop her but she does it even when she's busy playing?

Has anyone else delt with this before?

Should I phone health visitor/ Doctor?

I'm worried about her as she has a terrible appetite and I can't get her to stop doing it.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks.

She's just orally fixated and it will be oddly pleasing to her like some people like picking at their fingers or twirling their hair and pulling it and other weird stuff like that. Try getting her a fidget cube maybe? Sorry I don't have a lot of advice just to say she's not alone or odd to do it :)

We have a fidget cube she's not that interested. Hopefully it's something she will grow out of thanks.

Personally, I think it's worth mentioning to see if it's Pica.

Yes that's what I was worried about but so unheard of. Well I don't know anyone that has had a child with it if you know what I mean.

She is well overdue her 2 1/2, check with health visitor so think I will mention it to them . Especially since it's gone on so long and it's becoming more frequent.

Please come back once you've spoken to them and let us know what they say Smile

Hello anyone that's interested. The health visitor wasn't helpful. Couldn't of been less interested.

I explained I'm really worried about her lack of eating. And constantly eating Fluff/fuzz.

Her advice was ignore her. I do this and it's getting worse🤷.

Sounds like you should see a GP. If she has a vitamin deficiency you want that to be corrected sooner rather than later
