When did your newborn start liking being naked?

I'm just wondering when everyone's newborns started liking being naked?
My baby's 3 weeks old on Sunday and still hates nappy/clothes changes and the few minutes after bath time.
I know he'll grow out of this but he screams the house down and gets so worked up he makes himself sick.
I make sure to put him on something warm and talk to him ect but it doesn't make a difference.

Try wrapping him so he's only exposed one bit at a time.

So swaddle him but leave the bottom half open so you can work on his nappy, when you've finished that wrap him again but leave the top half free so you can wash that bit.

Basically avoid stripping him off completely, just strip one quarter at a time!

DS is 17 months now and still howls after his bath every night 🤷🏼‍♀️

Sorry but I had to smile.

I do recall this phase but it was so long ago I can't remember when it ended. It will end soon.

The bit that made me smile was the thought of my two-year old grandson. He creates when he's asked to put clothes on.

Every phase is replaced by a new one with it's own challenges. The joy of parenting.

Mine was the same at that age but now at 5 months he loves bath time and being naked! I think it slowly happened after 3 months, hang in there

He was end of December and we used to put his wipes on the radiator so they stayed warm and at happy change time we used to turn on the electric portable heater. Grin

I can’t remember exactly when it stopped but I’m pretty sure my DS was still unhappy about nappy changes at 3 weeks. But by 3 weeks I’d only given him 2 or 3 baths at most - are the baths a daily thing? If so I would drop that for now until he’s more comfortable with it. As pp said I would keep stripping off fully to a minimum right now - most babies just don’t like it.

I dropped baths completely because of this when my son was this age. I think I started them again at around 8 weeks old as part of a bath/bottle/bed routine. He seemed much more tolerant then.

I can't remember the exact time it changed but my son is 6m and loves being naked so much that I take his nappy off when I've run out of all things to entertain him and he kicks and wiggles so much in excitement he twists round and round like the hands of a clock.

The naked screaming stage is so tough but hang in there, it will pass!

Have you tried having a bath with him? Then just cuddle him dry in a towel.

My 3yo has never liked being naked. In fact, recently as he's been potty training is the first time he's been happy to run about bottomless but only because he knows it's easier to go to the potty if he isn't faffing about with trousers. Some kids just don't like it I guess!
