Sling safe for newborn?

First time mum, baby a week old and will not be put down or really be held by even my husband for long.
I would love to be able to put her in a sling but are they safe? Some say they can be used from birth but just wondering if anyone had any advice or recommendations?

A stretchy wrap such as a Moby or a Close Caboo are wonderful with newborns. I wouldn't go for a structured (buckled) one with such a small baby.

I have a freerider one. Its really just a long piece of material. In the early days id take my son around with me whilst I got on with my day. Hes 9 weeks now and wont tolerate it.

Yes, a stretchy sling is safe to use, if used properly. You may need to practice a few times with help (possibly try with a teddy). Also look up KISS guidelines for babywearing, which are really important with a very young baby.

Second vote for a Close Caboo. There’s lots of videos on YouTube which will show you how to put it on correctly.

Thanks for the safety info! I've ordered a caboo and a stretch fabric wrap to try - I've saved enough not doing anything in lockdown! Our local sling library would have been great but isn't running so I will just order them and sell on if I don't like them/cant return.
