Hi, hoping someone may have the knowledge I’m lacking. My DD is 3 and has had gastro issues most of her life. She has a very limited diet because of this. Things came to a head recently when she was screaming in agony. A stool sample was tested and she had a faecle calprotectin level over 600 which would indicate high levels of inflammation. Just as I thought we might be getting somewhere, her consultant said they want another sample tested and bloods done before they’d consider investigating further.
I just had the recent stool sample results and it’s now at 16. I am so confused. Does this mean a false positive the first time as there is such a big difference. Considering the recent result, I’m not expecting anything to show in her bloods. Which will mean no further tests. I am so deflated even though it’s good news, as we are still none the wiser of what is going on. It’s been pure hell pretty much since birth. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you x
