Will my 5 year old ever stop talking?

Light hearted.. was up with 1 year old a lot last night so very exhausted and I think I've had every question possible about life from 5yo, other times just babbling. Either way it's relentless. Why have you got different toast to me? Why is the fire so hot? Can you find my tiara? Look at these shadows I'm making, what shadow is this? What's this? What about this? I love her really but I think in the last 2 weeks the talking/questions are bloody relentless.

My dd is almost 10 and still never stops. Ever. I have to brace myself when I pick up from school because she hugs me and then the onslaught begins. "Mum......Mum.......Mum..."

I remember once we went to a wedding and only took ds2 leaving dd and ds1 with grandparents. We were stunned by how much ds2 could talk! We'd never really realised because dd doesn't let anyone else get a word in!

Nope, DD is 5, as she opens her eyes in the morning she opens her mouth, and that's it until she closes them again at night, on and on and on and on and on and on

No they will not stop. I remember trying to explain to DD
1.the concept of keeping some thoughts in her head

1. That not every sentence needs to start with "MUM!", if I'm right next to her anyway

Mine did to a large extent. Second one did it as well but, again, has pretty much stopped.

Oh my God flying . My 12yr old is a social (school) justice campaigner. I hear all about who has argued with who, who swore at the teacher, what fight nearly broke out and why it was wrong.

Oh I feel your pain. My 6 year old never stops from morning to night, he is standing at the kitchen table beside me doing a running commentary on moving the table decorations- Christmas - over and back. He was off sick yesterday and I got no work done - constant chat. It really is exhausting. Even his poor teacher has said it!!!

I have three. It's constant from 5.30am until 7.30pm.
"Mum, where's my socks/where's ted/I've done a poo/can I have some juice/when's Christmas/is it Christmas now?/is it Christmas tomorrow?/where's Dad?/Why is he at work?/Why is it raining?/Why do I have nails?/ why is the sun called the sun? nonstop nonstop nonstop.

It's one reason why I hate having my mum over to stay, apart from her drinking. She talks incessantly, about every single depressing article the Daily Fail has, or how bad her life is right now/how terrible she has it. It's why I love my husband, we sit happily mute together in the evenings after the kids have finally gone to sleep. I find silence bliss.

My child is almost seven and a late talker. Now he never shuts up. Especially about minecraft. Sometimes I say ok thats enough minecraft now let's talk about something else so he might start about the avengers instead.

It's actually incredible isn't it. He talks to us if we have wandered through the house and when he's on the toilet, I keep telling him you can't talk to people if you can't see them! (And no this doesn't mean you just talk louder son!).

This has tickled me greatly. Glad I'm not alone. Not excited for 1yo to start talking! Think I may go crackers. It really is non stop, waking up to bedtime. Never. Ending. She doesn't even mind when I'm mid sentence, she comes in with 'can you see this scratch? How did I get it? Can I have a drink? Look at this sharp toe nail. What's for tea? My friend said she got an LOL doll for her bday. Can I have an LOL doll??' Arghhhh!!!

DS2 (6) doesn't pause for breath. We now have a running joke after I asked him if he was going to keep going until he'd asked a million questions. Now I can ask him if he's going for the million and he'll laugh and give me, oh, maybe one minute of respite.

I thought asking where babies come from and what happens when we die within a minute of each other on the way to swimming lessons was cruel and unusual punishment, though. I reckon it was so that when he hit me with the third question (can we go to Old McDonalds on the way back) I'd be so grateful that I'd say yes.
