I wouldn’t do it, personally.

No not at all. What are you insinuating? At 4 the top half of boys and girls look the same. Would you post a topless picture of a 4 year old boy?

If your issue is children on social media then YANBU. If your issue is an innocent child showing upper body then YABU.

I think posting partially dressed pictures of any child to social media is unwise. A topless 4 year old girl looks exactly the same as a topless 4 year old boy though. 4 year old's don't have breasts.

I don't think it's the topless part that's inappropriate as a 4 year old girl doesn't have anything. But I wouldn't put half undressed children on Facebook.

Some person took offence when I said they shouldn’t have little topless girls as their profile picture.

It sounds like you were rude and your focus on the fact that they're girls makes you sound like the weirdo tbh. Although I don't think half dressed photos of children should be posted online it's probably a mind your own business moment

Oh God no. Profile pictures are public. This person has basically stuck a half naked of their child up that they will never be able to delete.
It is irresponsible.

Well i would have minded my own business if the guy wasn’t stalking Hell out of me, messaging my family, stealing my profile picture of myself defacing it with price lists calling me a prostitute. So that’s why I asked this question because due to him stealing my pictures whose to say the picture of the girl isn’t stolen either?

If that makes me weird then I’ve probably a good reason for it. I was testing for reactions because I was about to go to police about him but since I’m considered weird now don’t think I’ll bother

Assuming its their little girl and not some random child they don't know, you were rude. No wonder they took offence.

Block him.

'Half naked' makes it sound very dramatic when they actually just have no top on.

Nothing wrong with kids running around with just their pants on. Wouldn't bother me sharing a photo online as long as private parts are never exposed. Chest/tummy/back are no different than showing arms and legs at that age, and doesn't matter whether boy or girl. They all look the same.

What a weird drip feed. If all of that is true I think him taking offence is the least of your worries. Report to Facebook and the police if harassment continues. The picture sounds inadvisable but there's not much you can do and it's really nothing to do with you

And your major concern is his profile picture?

Maybe you're focussing on the wrong things here.

Change all your Facebook settings to the most private settings possible.

I find this a sore topic with many, maybe because they do it with their own children and don’t want it to be wrong. My cousin used to let her children play naked in the garden where passerby’s could see them. I mentioned it and she was furious.

As for the internet, chickens are coming home to roost now. Those that are looking for jobs of uni places have realised their past matters and are taking pictures and posts down. Parents who have pictures of their children stolen may not ever know it however.

We stopped sending pictures to MIL when she requested bath pictures to put on a “grandchildren site” she read 😳. She had previously asked for pictures “pulling stupid faces” (she didn’t get those either). The site sounded sinister.

My profile is private except my face on the profile. My sister contacted nspcc because she was concerned, that a father of young kids is hounding women online.
So surreal that a comment that he took offence to a comment about a celeb and goes on troll offensive. It’s his kids I’m worried about.

I think we all have pics of our babies in baths but wouldn’t put them online..to many nasty people out there who can take pictures straight from social media and doctor them, just like I’ve discribed..if anyone does have pictures of their kids naked/topless please please make sure they are on your private viewing.
the guy has totally creeped me out, I’m concerned for his kids.

What’s weird post, if someone is harassing you online contact the police.

As for the photo, it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest, it’s a 4 year old child(presumably his child).

Clairenewbie · 07/06/2018 09:06

Is it though? if he’s happy to lift pictures from other people’s profile whose to say that’s his kids? It wouldn’t have bothered me either if the person was sane in the head, the fact he’s clearly insane sparks alarm bells.

Well how are we to know? You contact the police about his harassment and let them deal with him.

@frasier

Slightly off topic - but thank you. I know it shouldn’t matter, but it does to me, I was reading this thread but got stuck on your comment!
