So my little one has wee’d on my fabric sofa and I can’t shift the smell... any ideas on what actually works to get rid of it?

Spray or sponge water onto the affected area. Sprinkle bicorbonate of soda on. Leave overnight or while you go out for the day. Hoover it off.

You need an upholstery cleaner spray, make sure you have soaked up the damp with towels first. Check the cleaner is for carpets and upholstery, and check on a small patch that it doesn’t affect the colour.
When it’s all done a dried, it should be fine.
Dettol do some sprays which are antibacterial, for bins, floors and upholstery too. But I’d clean as the first option.

Spray with vinegar, sprinkle well with bicarb, allow to dry completely then Hoover off. Obviously, check on hidden part of sofa first.

You can buy urine enzyme spray on Amazon - works a treat. It’s pricey but worth it!

So does the bicarb trick actually work? I’ve read about it but wasn’t convinced!

You could try putting a towel down over the patch and steaming it with the iron. I know it sounds crazy but the steam will kill the bacteria which makes it smell. I've done this on a mattress and it worked a treat.

Get some Simple Solution from a pet shop. Brilliant stuff!! Works on any bodily function for humans and pets.

Ds went through a stage of shitting in the night and his mattress really smelled. Bicarb worked a treat on poo smell. Also worked on our sofa when dhs aunt who smokes like a chimney came to babysit.
