Worry about baby's feed

Hi.

My baby is ff and weighs 13 pounds so should be having around 30 ounces every 24 hours. He's been having in a range of 26-28 the last few weeks but the last few days has only had 22-24 ounces.

He's 12 weeks old just, he seems happy and is having wet and dirty nappies like normal. Although he was crying a lot yesterday, due to having a bad tummy which passed after a few hours. Should I be worried? He's really sleepy too, so could this be a growth spurt?

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same.

In my experience, you need to stop counting the ounces. It'll drive you mad. I was told mine wasn't eating enough, then "that's FAR too much". Lots of worry and panic. If bf had worked out for me, I wouldn't even have known. I wish I'd just stopped counting and saved myself the worry - all babies are different and they go through different phases all the time. And they can eat less some days than others, just like we can, then have a really hungry day. It's all fine! As long as the weight is generally ok (though going a bit up and down from their percentile is also normal and not cause for concern) then don't worry.

Thank you, I think the same with bf. I tried but he didn't take to it and was dehydrated so went into formula. But keep thinking if I was bf then I wouldn't know how much he was having.

Glad to know it's not just me obsessed with ounces 😂😃

As @thUnderdog said. I BF and didn't have a scooby how much she was having. As long as she was hydrated, pooping and weeing I considered it enough 🤷🏻‍♀️

I Was going to say Same as
thUnderdog.
I have 4 and not one of them have drunk what they "should" of been drinking ... had two on hungry baby within four months 1 bf until 14 months and 1 on formula from birth ...as long as nappies wet & dirty and within percentile (even slipping slightly either side is normal as thUnderdog says) gaining weight and well then please please stop worrying ! Not a single baby is the same and these are only " guide lines" "recommended" hun. You know your baby so if alls well else where with bubba then a few ounces here and there are just not worth the worry or stress x good luck x
