7 year old won’t sleep all night anymore!

My youngest daughter (7 years old) recently had a dream that really frightened her. We’ve talked it through with her and reassured her, she has even slept in her 14 year old sisters room for a few days as she was too scared to sleep alone. We thought it was just a ‘blip’. We’ve now managed to get her to fall asleep in her room, but all this week she has woken me up at 4am! She panics when I tell her she must go back to bed and gets incredibly anxious. She ends up falling asleep on our bedroom floor. She is normally such a good little girl. Does as she’s told and always wants to please. I’m absolutely shattered! Her older sisters never did anything like this so I’m at a loss. We’ve tried ‘tough love’, and put her back to bed which resulted in nearly 2 hours of crying. Any suggestions gratefully received!

I'd let her come into your room and put something on the floor for her to sleep on. She is doing this because she is scared, and she is only 7. Ime tough love isn't going to work on a distressed child.

This is what we’ve been doing up until a couple of nights ago. I think we may need to continue

And the tough love was my Hubby not me. I felt awful :(

Poor wee thing Sad the problem is your husband. I'd be inclined to relegate him to her bed and let DD in your bed.
