Messed up routine!!

So my son has had the same routine since 19 weeks (he's 9month now) bath and bed by 7pm, although he still doesn't sleep through and tends to come in with me most nights to get back to sleep after night feed. I'd say I'm fairly strict with bed time routine.

Last week we went on holiday, and he's not a great sleeper in the day so come night time he's fairly shattered. We never stayed out late, the latest would of been 8/8:30 and we'd be back in the room going to bed. He slept in my bed all week because the travel cot was not nice. Since coming home he's got the flu had high temp for 4 days and barely slept in the night. Only on me sat up!!

Since all this he will not go to bed at all. I'll do the same routine. Bath bottle bed. And within 30minutes he's back up! Shattered but will constantly fight going back to sleep so he's awake for 2-3 hours again. I don't bring him downstairs!

Any advice on how to get him back to his old routine 😔😔

Yes, don't take him downstairs! Seriously though, if any baby or child, no matter how tired thinks there's a chance of going back downstairs and doing something more interesting, they will play up.

Does sound as if you could be suffering from the 9 month sleep regression too.

No he doesn't come downstairs we take it in turns to go and see to him. Hopefully he'll go back to his usual self

Really sorry, completely misread your post and thought you said you did take him downstairs Blush

Have you read this on the 9 month sleep regression?. It might help a bit Smile

My 10mo is doing this but in the middle of the night. Wakes up around 1am and just won't settle for 1-2hrs. It's a phase. It will pass. Probably coincidence that is clashes with your hols/illness.
