I have just had a sobering but thankfully harmless experience.
I popped out to my sisters for a cuppa and to just get out for an hour or so left DH with kids. DS in bed, DH putting DD to bed as I went out.
40 minutes later I get a phone call on my mobile from "home". Answered it to hear DD absolutely beside herself, crying her eyes out saying she had come downstairs and there was no one there and she was scared because Dad was missing and they were on their own.
I rushed back home and found DH in the garage pottering around none the wiser. Poor DD was really, really upset, she thought that something had happened to her Dad and was obviously scared at being in the house on her own.
Im SO proud of her for doing the right thing and being calm and collected enough to give me a call.
Im now really glad I gave her a list of mine, DHs, Grandmas etc etc contact numbers just in case.
Would your kids be able to contact someone for help if it came to it?
DD is 7 btw
