Baby Anal Fissure

Sooo as I have long suspected (after numerous docs appts being told "oh, she probably just needs more fibre") I have FINALLY got the answer that my 10 month old has an anal fissure, which is causing her extreme hurt and upset when she goes #2, and she holds it in for days causing her poo to be hard, therefore even more painful.
Anywho, has anybody dealt with this?
She's been prescribed Movicol and a steroid cream to apply to her butt, but they didn't send me home with a bloody information sheet did they.
How much of the sachet of movicol should I be giving her? (Again, she's 10 months and it says on the box to not give to under 2 )
And how long did it take for your child's fissure (or yours/anyone's you know I suppose) to heal?
Any info appreciated please, I want to make sure I'm doin everythin I can and doing it correctly!

Who was it you spoke to? Can you ring the GP or the consultant secretary to ask for clarification.

Have you already looked at food intolerances (especially dairy/wheat)?
I think it's quite unusual for a baby of that age not to have soft stools, even allowing for the withholding issue.
No experience of this in children im afraid - but I had a very persistent fissure myself for about a year after childbirth due to pelvic floor trauma. It was horrible - your poor baby, I hope its healed soon.

Not sure if thus is helpful or not but when my baby had one, dr advised child anal suppositories to help. I think they alleviated the impacted poo and sort of coated the fissure so it didn't sting. T'was a long time ago though now and advice may be different

To speak to my GP you have to book an appointment to actually go in, and I will have to do that, was just hoping perhaps somebody would know lol!

And it began a couple months ago when she started solid stuff, she became very constipated and passed a really hard stool, and ever since then it's hurt her and occasionally had a stripe of blood on her stool. She holds it in now too so it becomes hard, and lactulose (what they originally gave me) wasn't doing anything except coating the stool with slimy stuff, she still managed to hold it in. Hoping for different results with this movicol! I've heard it actually makes them poo sloppy so they can't hold it.

Your poor baby. I had an anal fissure post birth and it was really unpleasant. It took a week or two for mine to heal.
