Hi, i really hope someone can help, i'm at my wits end. My LO is 5 months old and over the last 3 days is eating less and less, he is now bottle fed and was managing almost a litre of milk a day bit is now down to almost half that. Its really hot where we are and i'm getting worried he is dehydrated. He gets angry whenever we try and feed him and if we do get him to feed he only takes about 60ml at once. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Do not fear! My 6mo dd did this multiple times over the last month or so. It coincided nicely with growth spurts and her sleep patterns becoming all messed up.

Try offering your lo water if they'll take it (although dd wouldn't take it from a bottle; we had to show her the fun of using a free-flow sippy cup to get water into her!) and talk to your HV. Most likely they will not be worried unless your baby consistently loses weight over the next month. My dd would often take about 1 bottle's worth of milk a day, rather than the usual 5!

It's worrying but they'll have as much as they need. You may find that in a few days/week your lo will suddenly be back to drinking a good amount, on routine! I hope this reassures you somewhat x

thank you, that puts my mind at rest a lot. He seems a bit more like himself today.

Yes mine also did this for a couple of weeks. Also stopped letting me feed him in my arms and would only take a bottle in a bouncy chair or on the floor. He seems to have got over himself now!
