DC1 starts nursery when DC2 is due - worried about the logisitics!

My PFB is due to start nursery 2 weeks before DC2 is due and I'm worried that he'll feel that he's been sent away because of the new baby Sad I've read some previous threads on MN where this has been the case when a child has started school just when the baby has arrived.

Also, I'm worried in case the baby arrives early and is here slap bang when DC1 should be starting nursery - I do not want to miss that!

We put DC1 down for 5 mornings as that suited us in our current situation but I'm wondering if that's now too optimistic to be out every morning at that time. I'll be on mat leave anyway so was thinking of maybe changing to afternoons or not having him in every day?

Some reassurance would be welcomed! I'm hormonal and teary! (feeling guilty that my PFB will have to share us now and worried about how he'll take it Sad)

He'll have just turned 3 when he starts nursery.

I had exactly the same situation. Ds was actually born on 26 September, 12 days late. Since DD was 4 wks early I was very worried. It all worked out fine DD had a lovely time at playgroup, I got loads of 1:1 time with Ds. When DD was home made sure I put Ds in his chair so DD got her 1:1 time and didn't get pushed out. Good luck with everything.

Thank you. Yes, have been thinking about making sure DC1 has some 1:1 with us.
